Worried Californian Winemakers Anticipate Lower Yields in 2003

This year’s harvest will not be good to all California’s grape growers, however. While prices for grapes used to make the value-brand wines are expected to rise, industry analysts expect prices to fall for grapes used in a large portion of higher-priced California wines.

Growers in premier wine regions like Napa Valley and Sonoma Valley have become overly productive in recent years, and that is starting to show up in the supply chain.
