Grape Glut Leads to Uprooted Vineyards
Finally, the grape glut has receded, and prices can start to go back up again. Whew! I was getting worried there. At least something good has come out of all this grape glut talk: The Central Valley is pulling out acreage! That’s right, you won’t be as overwhelmed with cheap, flabby wines as much. And at the same time, the industry as a whole can rebound, which is great news for those wineries that make a quality product but have been unable to sell much of it in recent years.
