Two Down, Canada to go
The proposed takeover bid by beverage manufacturer Pernod Ricard to acquire rival Allied Domecq received clearance by the United States Federal Trade commission, contingent on the sale of Courvoisier and Sauza Tequila to Fortune Brands. This comes as good news to both companies involved, as the only hurdle left in this acquisition is the Canadian government, since the European commission and U.S. have approved the deal. What does this mean for wine drinkers? Not much.
