A study done in Iceland showed that those who moderatly drink red wine are less at risk of developing Cataracts. Although the study does not reveal how red wine actually does this, some componets of wine like the Polyphenol Resveratrol which fights against other ailments, could be responsible. Beer, smoking, or a bad diet are said to increase the chance of developing Cataracts. Cataracts effects half of those ages 65 to 74, and 70% of those over 75.
