Pass the Plastic Screw Capped Chardonnay Please
Beringer announced today the release of a new product, Stone Cellars (Website), a 187ml Unbreakable (plastic) single serve bottle with a screw cap. Four different varietals will be offered, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Cabernet with the price set at $8 for a four pack, and $14 for an 8 pack. It’s an interesting idea for picnic lunches, given the problem with glassware, etc., but I tend to find myself not minding going out of my way to bring the necessary glassware on a picnic. Besides, you can’t appreciate bouquet out of the neck of a bottle. Will it catch on the way White Zin did?
