Jess Jackson going Boutique?
The purchases just don’t stop in the wine industry, as Artisans & Estates Vineyards & Wineries, owned by Jess Jackson of Kendall Jackson fame, purchased La Jota Vineyard Co. of Howell Mountain for an undisclosed sum. An article just appeared on October 20 on SFGate outlining the wineries of this fruitful area of Napa Valley. Of La Jota the article comments:
La Jota Vineyard Co., owned by Markham Vineyards since 2001, has also been resuscitated as a boutique winery, where winemaker Kimberlee Nicholls annually produces about 4,000 cases of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Petite Sirah from the 29 acres of vines on the 41-acre estate, which is not open to the public.
