Moving Mountains?
It’s amazing what can be accomplished with a blog. Trader Joe’s has pulled Chiaro del Bastardo Italian white wine from it’s shelves based on a tip from a newspaper columnist who blogged about the experience (Sidenote: I was going to call this blog “uncorked” when I registered it, but the Chronicle, and a magazine, and various other columns where using it, so I shot that idea down). The problem? He purchased two identically labeled bottles with two very different colored wine inside. Not only did the wine look different in hue, but tasted different, noting a deeper problem with the wine. Perhaps the juice was purchased from multiple sources, not properly blended, underwent a chemical change in a few tanks, etc. Whatever the reason, Trader Joe’s was listening, and responded swiftly.
