Congratulations Mr. Rob van Leeuwen, you have correctly identified the winery entrance belonging to Shafer Vineyards! Here is another photo from a different angle showing the same road and mountain background (click the thumbnail for a larger view). Now the fun part Rob, would you like a white wine or a red wine? You can choose between the 2003 Linne Calodo Problem Child (approx. $40 value), a blend of Zinfandel, Mourvedre, and Syrah, or the white from the winery pictured, the current (2004?) Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay (approx. $38 value).
Full disclaimer: Rob van Leeuwen is a close friend of mine, but in no way did I hint or reveal the correct answer to him, although he did try to get it out of me (and my wife).
Thanks for all who participated, this won’t be the last contest held by Winexpression. Also, stay tuned for a new feature coming this month on Winexpression. Cheers!

Take the Linne Calodo! Take the Linne Calodo! I just bought a case of the 2003 Problem Child. Awesome juice!
Thanks Jate, I think I’ll pick the Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch. My wife & I decided it’s time to branch out and try whites more often.
John,
That would have been my choice too.
Rob,
You got it. A bottle of the Chardonnay will arrive at your doorstep this week.
Thanks again for playing, and enjoy!
Personally I would have gone for the Problem Child (since that’s what my momma used to call me), but the Shafer is one of my wife’s favorite Chardonnay’s, and it’s time to score some brownie points.
Momma was right…you’re still a problem child. But I see can understand your reasoning, brownie points are a boys best friend.
Enjoy the Shafer!
