It seems like you came back to the blogosphere just in time for WBW 33 but that Carignan you're reviewing turns out to be Californian (blast!) rather than  Languedoc-Roussillon, which is the theme of the WBW I'm hosting this month. 

It's interesting that Carignan was the most planted varietal in the US. They've been pulling it up all over the South of France recently but I can say that it certainly was/is the most prevalent grape variety in the Midi... Which is why I almost want to include this post in the round-up tomorrow.
